Welcome to the Module Releases section of The Greek Bible Project! I am thrilled to announce the completion and free availability of the first book in the Septuagint translation project: Genesis. This landmark book, along with its full companion notes module, is now available for download.
The Genesis Bible Module (LXX-GEN)
The LXX Modern English Translation (LXX-MET) of Genesis is based on the authoritative Alfred Rahlfs’ Septuaginta 1935 critical edition. This translation is committed to a literal, word-for-word rendering of the Greek, ensuring that the ancient text speaks clearly in modern English, while preserving grammatical fidelity and the full context of the original language.
This book is the first step in our mission to provide a faithful English translation of the entire Greek Old and New Testaments. The Genesis module is packaged specifically for the e-Sword Bible software, which is also available as a free download [Link to e-Sword Download].
Companion Notes and Commentary Module
To serve the dedicated student, the Genesis release includes a separate, extensive notes and commentary module. This module provides the scholarly tools necessary for deep textual engagement:

Detailed Greek Word Analysis: In-depth examination of key Greek terms and phrases.

Hebrew Text Comparison: Occasional comparison with the underlying Hebrew text to clarify nuances and translation choices.

Free Download and Installation
The Genesis Bible module (LXX-GEN – This is the Tab Short Name) and its notes module (LXX-GEN Notes – This is the Tab Short Name) are released completely free of charge and are available immediately for download.
The Genesis file comes in a zip file. In the zip file you will find two modules. the one ending in .bbli, that is the Bible module. The one ending in .cmti, that is the Translation Notes/Commentary module. Both can be installed on your PC. If you have the app for mobile devices, they can be installed on those too.
The files are hosted in Google drive and the link provided is a share link that you will be able to download the files from.

IMPORTANT
If you plan to install future modules from the Greek Bible Project, it is recommended that you do not rename the modules. Though it may not seem to make sense, we have a naming scheme that will keep all of our modules grouped together in a logical order so finding the tabs for the different books and commentary modules will not be hard.
